For 2019, EmblemHealth is offering a number of Commercial and Medicare Advantage products that do not require referrals to any of their participating specialists. While the entire network is available to these patients, we encourage you to continue to utilize the Preferred Specialist Network. Providers should allow members with these plans to make an appointment without a referral.
While these products allow for a referral without approval, office based services other than consultation will still require submission of a Prior Authorization request. By utilizing the PSN, these administrative steps are not required.
