HCP Statement on Death of George Floyd

PRESS RELEASE | JUNE 4, 2020

Garden City, New York –As a company dedicated to serving the health needs of members of varied racial and ethnic backgrounds, we know all too well there are health disparities among the residents of New York.

We at HealthCare Partners (HCP) know better than many the value that our own cultural diversity brings to our workplace. Our commitment to improving the lives of every person we serve remains unchanged, especially in these most trying of times.

The recent death of George Floyd once again brings the realities of racial inequality to the front of our minds. We share the pain and sadness being felt among our families, our colleagues, and our fellow New Yorkers over this past week. The calls for change that we are hearing in our communities, on our streets and in our hearts cannot be silenced.

We have an opportunity during this time of anguish to support one another.  We take comfort in the knowledge that at HCP, our allegiances have no racial boundaries, our efforts are not affected by the color of one’s skin, and that as a company we celebrate our differences with pride.

Let us hope the events of this past week will lead to real change that we can all be proud of. And let us all ensure we are seeking peaceful solutions.
