Each year, the New York State Department of Health requires completion of Cultural Competency Training for EmblemHealth Enhanced Care (Medicaid Managed Care) and Enhanced Care Plus (HARP) participating providers and their staff who have regular and substantial contact with our members.
Please follow the steps below to submit your required certification to EmblemHealth by December 31, 2026:
- Visit emblemhealth.com/providers/training-certification.
- Review the e-learning program, The Guide to Providing Effective Communication and Language Assistance Services.
- Select the button for either Individual or Group Certification.
Note: For groups, a separate certification is required for each group/organization tax ID number (TIN). - Check the box for the appropriate certification statement and complete the required fields.
- Click “SUBMIT,” and you will receive an email confirmation.
NOTE: If you and your staff at all locations have already completed the cultural competency training course with another managed care plan, you do not have to complete the training again. However, you must certify with EmblemHealth that you have completed your training as outlined in the steps above. If you receive this notice at your other service location(s), you only need to certify completion of this training once.
